Sacramento Real Estate Planning & Zoning
Firm principal K. Greg Peterson currently serves as Chairman and one of five Commissioners on the Sacramento County Planning Commission. Mr. Peterson and the Commission are responsible for hearing land use, zoning, and related policy issues, many of which have a significant impact on the Sacramento area. This is a Sacramento County Board of Supervisors appointed position and involves a six (6) year term.
Recently, the Commission has updated the County General Plan, which will affect zoning and development throughout Sacramento County for many years to come. Important issues recently addressed by the Commission include re-permitting of multiple large mining operations in southeast Sacramento County; addressing implementation of California's new greenhouse gas initiative (AB 32 and SB 375); updating of the Zoning Code to address changes in the Agricultural Element and the conflicts in state and federal law regarding permitting of marijuana related businesses; and permitting several large scale solar power projects in southeast Sacramento County. For detailed information regarding meeting agendas and action summaries of previous meetings, please visit the Commission's website.
Mr. Peterson regularly meets with constituents who have matters to bring in front of the Commission or have concerns related to the Planning Commission's work. To schedule an appointment, please contact LeeAnn Scott at (916) 443-3010.
